These Terms govern your use of Chatavi. By tapping “Start chatting” you confirm that you have read and agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy and our Community Guidelines.

1. Who can use Chatavi

You must be at least 18 years old. By using the service you confirm that you are 18 or older and legally able to agree to these Terms.

2. The service

Chatavi connects you with a random stranger for an anonymous, text-only, one-to-one chat. We do not verify who other users are. People you meet may not be who they say they are. You use the service at your own risk.

3. Your conduct

You are responsible for everything you send. You agree to follow the Community Guidelines and not to use Chatavi to:

  • share sexual content, or any content involving minors;
  • harass, threaten, bully or abuse anyone, or promote hatred or violence;
  • scam, spam, advertise, or ask for money or payment details;
  • share anyone’s personal information without their permission;
  • impersonate another person or organisation;
  • break any law, including the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023;
  • use bots or automated scripts, or disrupt or reverse-engineer the service.

4. Moderation and enforcement

We automatically filter some content (such as phone numbers, links and abusive words) and review reported chats. We may block messages, end chats, and suspend or permanently ban access at our discretion, and report illegal activity to the authorities.

5. Intermediary status

Chatavi is an intermediary under the Information Technology Act, 2000. Messages are created by users, not by us, and we do not endorse them. We follow the due-diligence requirements of the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021, including our grievance redressal process.

6. Ads

The service is free and supported by advertising. Ads are provided by third parties such as Google.

7. Disclaimers

The service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that it will always be available, error-free, or that you will be matched with anyone.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Chatavi is not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, or for the conduct of any user, arising from your use of the service.

9. Changes and termination

We may change these Terms or the service at any time. Continuing to use Chatavi after a change means you accept the updated Terms. You may stop using the service at any time.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of India have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
