Community Guidelines

Chatavi works when people treat strangers the way they’d like to be treated. These rules apply to every chat. Breaking them can get you banned.

✅ Do

• Be kind and curious. Say hello and ask questions.
• Respect a “no”. If someone isn’t interested in a topic, move on.
• Tap Next whenever a chat isn’t working for you — no explanation needed.
• Report anyone who breaks these rules. It takes two taps and helps everyone.

🚫 Don’t

• Anything involving minors. Chatavi is 18+ only. Any sexual content involving children leads to a permanent ban and a report to law enforcement.
• Sexual content or unwanted flirting after someone says no.
• Harassment and hate — insults, threats, bullying, or attacks based on religion, caste, gender, region, sexuality or disability.
• Sharing personal details — yours or anyone else’s: phone numbers, addresses, social media IDs, photos.
• Scams and spam — asking for money, UPI payments, OTPs, promoting products, links or other apps.
• Illegal activity — drugs, weapons, piracy, or encouraging violence.
• Impersonation — pretending to be a real person, company, police or government official.

What happens when rules are broken

• Messages with phone numbers, links or abusive words are blocked automatically.
• Reported chats are reviewed by our team.
• Bans grow with each violation: 1 hour, then 24 hours, then 7 days. Another violation within 30 days of the last ban leads to a permanent ban.
• Serious violations can lead to a permanent ban straight away and may be reported to the authorities.
• If you think a ban was a mistake, you can appeal to our Grievance Officer.
